The trip will finish with an adventurous trek in The Lost City, so get ready to explore indigenous territories and the beauty of rivers and jungles. This is a perfect plan for travelers looking for adventure and sunny days on the beach.

On the first day of this trip, we will spend some time discovering the charm and history of the center of the capital city of Colombia. It will start by using the public transport system to go to “La Candelaria”, a historic neighborhood. The starting point of the walking tour is “Plaza de Bolivar”, from which we will take some time walking around while admiring the colonial architecture, beautiful 17th and 18th century churches and 300 year old restored houses. The next stop will be Fernando Botero´s museum, the Colombia´s most famous painter and sculptor. Once we have admired his work art and have enjoyed a break for lunch, we will be ready to take the cable car to “Cerro de Monserrate”, which is the famous hill of the city with a white church on the top (only about 1.5 km from “La Candelaria”). The view is incredible and you can even see on clear days all the way to “Los Nevados”. We will back around 6 pm to the hotel.

After enjoying a nice breakfast, we will be on a road trip for about 9 hours. You will be admiring the amazing landscapes of Colombia while we get to Guatape, our final destination. You will have the rest of the day to explore this little and charming town surrounded by beautiful lakes.

Get ready to climb el Peñol, a giant rock 200 meters high. Fell in love with the area by admiring the view from the top of the mountain. After lunch, we will enjoy a nice boat ride on the lake. Next stop is the city of the infamous Pablo Escobar. Medellin was once one of the most dangerous cities in the world but after a painful decade of violence, it is now a beautiful prosperous city that leads many innovative projects in the country in areas like education, culture and architecture. Enjoy the rest of the evening in trendy bars and restaurants of the city.

You will have the day to explore the city on your own. There are lots of plans to choose from, here we mention a few of them: Visit Santa Fe de Antioquia, a laidback colonial town near Medellín, take the tour of Pablo Escobar, visit the botanical garden or take the cable car uphill to visit the poor neighborhoods. We will be happy to assist you on your plans for the day.

After breakfast, we will take a flight to Cartagena. The historical city of Cartagena and its beautiful historical center attract thousands of tourists every year and is the most visited place in Colombia The colorful colonial architecture in the old town -declared by UNESCO as a world heritage site- is a great place to be surrounded by while having a coffee or a delicious fresh juice in an old style plaza. Being in Cartagena is recalling the old times when conquers arrived and slavery was abolished back in the 19th century.

Enjoy the day on your own to fall in love with one of the most beautiful colonial cities of South America. Cartagena is for tourists on any budget but food, drinks and nights out can become pricey even for foreigners. While being there, you can visit the archipelago of Islas del Rosario by boat, in which you can find coral reefs and an aquarium with all kind of marine species. Our traveler´s experts will be happy to assist you if you want to do some activities on the day.
