With this exciting motorbike tour, you will have the opportunity to visit two of the most important national parks of Colombia (Rio Claro and Los Nevados), get to know the beautiful cities of Medellin and Bucaramanga and enjoy an authentic cup of Colombian coffee in one of the must-seen regions of the country. This is an adventurous trip to get to know Colombia in a different and challenging way!

Our motorbike tour starts in Bucaramanga, which is known as “the city of parks” or “the beautiful city of Colombia”. Bucaramanga is the capital city of the Santander region and it is where Colombian Dude operates from. We will have a short introduction about the tour before taking the road to the National Park of Rio Claro. It will be a nice ride through mountains and forests, with the last two hours riding along the amazing river Magdalena. We will stop at Pablo Escobar’s luxurious farm called ”Hacienda Napoles”. The place is the symbol of the violent times in which he ruled the drug business with his Medellin cartel. The famous entrance with a small plane and remains of the zoo he had once (that included different animals from all over the world) will amaze you. From the different species he brought to his farm over time, only the hippos remain at Hacienda Napoles.

At the National Park of Rio Claro, we will do some caving and some hiking to enjoy the natural reserve and the beautiful landscape of the park. Afterwards, we will have an easy ride to Guatape. Guatape is a lovely lakeside town. Although it is an artificial lake, its beauty, relax atmosphere and amazing views make this place the favorite destination for people of Medellin to spend their weekends.

In the morning, we will climb el Peñol, a giant rock 200 meters high is formed over 70 million years ago. Fell in love with the area by admiring the view from the top of the mountain. After lunch, we will be driving to Medellin. The road to Medellin is a pleasant way that offers a stunning view on the city on arrival. We will be stopping a few times to take some photos of the trip.

You will have the day to explore the city on your own. There are lots of plans to choose from, here we mention a few of them: Visit Santa Fe de Antioquia, a laidback colonial town near Medellín, take the tour of Pablo Escobar, visit the botanical garden or take the cable car uphill to visit the poor neighborhoods. We will be happy to assist you on your plans for the day.

Santa Fe de Antioquia is just two hours away from Medellin. The ride is a pleasant trip through beautiful landscapes of the Andean highlands. We will drive through the longest tunnel of Latin America before arriving to Santa Fe de Antioquia. The traditional colonial streets with nice churches, some lovely squares and white houses will give you an amazing experience and the opportunity to take great pictures of your trip. We will also visit the famous Puente del Occidente on the Cauca River, one of the longest and oldest suspended bridges of the region.

We will ride through the Andes mountains, with a couple of stops on the way to stretch and to take some photos of the beautiful scenery. Manizales lies in the heart of the famous coffee region of Colombia and is located in the Cauca valley of the Andes mountain range. It is a university city with a good selection of restaurants and bars near the main square, perfect places for taking a break and for drinking an authentic cup of Colombian coffee. Expect busy nightlife during the weekends.

e will leave early in the morning to visit Los Nevados , a beautiful national park. Prepare yourself for a day full of adventure that includes an excursion to the Nevado del Ruiz. The tour includes transport, breakfast and lunch, and admission to the national park and the thermal baths. It will be a moderate hike to see the Nevado Del Ruiz and the glaciers up close. The scenery is spectacular and will be definitely one of the highlights of this tour.

On the way to Pereira we will stop at the “Termales de Santa Rosa”, thermal springs that are a perfect place to relax and reboot your energy. The 3 waterfalls (the largest is 170 meter high) will make the stop a great experience. We will arrive to Pereira later in the afternoon, a city with a young and vibrant atmosphere at day and night because of the thousands of students that come from different parts of the region to study at the main universities.

It will be an easy ride to this little and lovely town. Salento is surrounded by beautiful nature and it is a great place to relax and enjoy. We will visit a working coffee farm. The visit includes a walking tour through the coffee fields and on-site processing plant with a local guide. The visit finishes with a delicious cup of colombian coffee. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring the town on your own.

The day will start early morning heading to Valle de Cocora, one of the most beautiful valleys of Colombia. Expect to see the tallest palm in the world that can grow up to 60 meters. Get ready for a day full of adventure through grasslands and cloud forests while seeing different species of birds. The trek can be a bit challenging because we will hike to 2860 meters. The views are stunning, so don´t forget to take great pictures of your trip. Once we are back in the hostel, you can relax and chill out.

We will be in the road to the Botanical garden del Quindio. This butterfly house has over 1500 butterflies of around 50 different species. It’s a great place to see birds also and to enjoy the variety of the plants well preserved in this inhouse environment. At Armenia, we will be staying in an old farmhouse where you can rest in hammocks and share your impressions of Colombia with people who own and run the farm.

The ride to Honda will take around 5 or 6hours. On our left side we will drive along the Sierra Nevada national park, a beautiful place with snowy mountain peaks that can be spot from the road on a clear day. Our last stop of the day is Honda, a small city along the Magdalena river that has a beautiful historic center and is untouched by tourism.

The tour will finish with an exciting 8 hours ride to Bucaramanga. Enjoy the last day of your adventure in Colombia! We can make arrangements for you once we arrive to Bucaramanga if you decided to stay longer or to plan another trip. In the evening we will enjoy our last dinner together.
